Yes I Cane family takes Japan!
The Lamarra Family applied for a Blind Travel Foundation grant in 2023 and while they did not win, they were inspired to launch an Instagram account @Yes_I_Cane, which showcases blind siblings Mina and Brennan sharing their lives and experiences through engaging and often humorous videos.
The family, which includes mom Parisa and dad Bart, traveled to Japan in August to learn about accessibility in Tokyo and Anjo. Anjo is the sister city of the family’s home town of Huntington Beach, CA, and they will be taking recommendations on accessibility to their city council for an upcoming downtown redesign. They produced a series of Instagram Reels during their trip to Tokyo, Anjo, and Kyoto.
